Interoperability Registry

The General Secretariat for Information Systems & Digital Governance (GS&D) of the Ministry of Digital Governance is the competent body for the identity confirmation (authentication) of natural persons, the implementation of cross-sectoral interoperability and interoperability of individual registers of public sector bodies, the operation of the Interoperability Center (IC) and the implementation of all relevant actions in collaboration with the above bodies, in accordance with article 84 of Law 4727/2020.

The Interoperability Registry, is an electronic platform created by the General Secretariat for Public Administration Information Systems (G.G.P.S.D.) (article 89 of Law 4727/2020) with the aim of continuously recording and mapping the web services, both of the G.G.P.S.D. Interoperability Center and those of the public sector web service providers.

More specifically, the following are kept in the Interoperability Registry:

a) Description data for the provided online services available through the Interoperability Center, which are automatically retrieved (from the Interoperability Center). The Interoperability Center (KE.D) ensures a single environment (infrastructure) for the installation and use of Internet services, through which operational data are exchanged between government agencies.

b) Description data for online services provided from other public bodies (providers) and not through Interoperability Center.

c) Description data for online services that are in the implementation phase.

A further point worth mentioning is the launch of the new National Interoperability Framework (NIF), which was completed during this reform. This framework was designed and implemented in collaboration with the International University and other academic institutions. The new NIF is fully compliant with the latest European and Greek legislation, as well as the European Interoperability Framework (EIF), which was adopted by the European Commission on 23 March 2017 (COM (2017) 134) and provides specific guidelines for the development of interoperable digital public services.
